  • Introduction: Traveling for the holidays? Come by our event to make sure your child car seat is installed correctly.

Traveling for the holidays or just want to heighten your peace of mind? Seventy-three percent of car seats are not used or installed incorrectly. So before you hit the road, it's important you check your car seat. Additionally, road injuries are the leading cause of unintentional deaths to children in the U.S. Correctly used child safety seats can reduce the risk of death by as much as 71 percent. On Dec. 15, 2017, trained members of the Front Range Fire Consortium fire academy are available to help you learn to install your car seat properly. The free event is at PFA's Station 4, 1945 W. Drake Road, in Fort Collins. Those who are interested, may make an appointment, between 3 and 4:30 p.m., by calling 970-416-2892 or emailing education@poudre-fire.org.

If you can't make the Dec. 15 event, you may also get additional information or make an appointment for another date and time online at www.poudre-fire.org/services/car-seats Those with questions may email education@poudre-fire.org.
