The Poudre Fire Authority operates three volunteer fire stations. Station 8 serves the community of Timnath. Station 9 is located at the south end of Horsetooth Reservoir. Station 11 serves Redstone Canyon. Check out our map. These stations are fully staffed by a cadre of 30 volunteers, trained to conduct wildland fire suppression and emergency medical care. They also serve in a support capacity on a variety of other emergency calls, including search and rescue and structure fires as well as community and public education events.
Congratulations to the eleven new volunteer firefighters who recently finished their training academy!
How do I become a volunteer firefighter?
Sorry, we're not accepting volunteer applications at this time.
What do you expect from a volunteer?
In a word; service. Volunteers are available to respond to emergencies in the area around their station. In addition, volunteers must spend several hours a week staffing and maintaining their stations and equipment. Of course, this is in addition to the time spent training and learning. PFA expects a lot from our volunteers because our citizens expect a lot from us.
